ive never gotten any messages regarding gold, and i doubt i will because i just hide what type of game im playing. which if your the type of person that doesnt like people bugging you this the best way to deal with it, imo.

iv never had this problem, but you really should stop complaining, stop giving out your Xfire name, and use the block button.

The spam I keep getting from a gold seller is happening even with this feature turned off. They use the web interface somehow to send the private message via Xfire's forums since they cant spam you the normal way. But then I haven't gotten any gold selling spam of late. Hopefully the person got banned.

I admit it is annoying but the only two people that ever messaged me over Xfire wanting me to buy gold were removed from my friend's list and never bothered me again...

What's the codebase for Xfire? I'm sure a simple mod could be made to fix this. I know I had a mod for my Yahoo that set up an automated response that forced anyone that messaged me to enter a verification word to start the session. Once the verification word was entered it would connect to me, put a stop to bots completely. Unless Xfire is being real tight fisted with their code it probably will only be a matter of time before someone mods it.
